Things To Do

We are so grateful many of you are traveling to Omaha for our wedding! And do not fret, there is more going on in Omaha than just our wedding. Here are some of the Shradar family favorites.

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium

3701 South 10th Street, Omaha, NE 68107

The best ranked zoo in the country! This zoo can honestly be a full day activity, if not a multiple day activity if you are trying to see everything and is a lot of fun, even for adults. Exhibits are organized by habitat and ecosystems with many unique animals. Izzy's recommendation is the Kingdom of the Night exhibit with all nocturnal animals including a leucistic alligator named Thibodaux.

Joslyn Art Museum

2200 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE 68102

An amazing public art gallery with a vast permanent collection, which is free to all visitors, and frequently rotating exhibits.

The Durham Museum

801 South 10th Street, Omaha, NE 68108

A museum focused on the unique history of the region with additional rotating exhibits and more through their affiliation with the Smithsonian Institution and Library of Congress set in one of Omaha's most unique historical buildings, Union Station.

Lauritzen Gardens

100 Bancroft Street, Omaha, NE 68108

Omaha's botanical center with 100 acres of horticultural displays. With beautiful walking paths, indoor gardens, and dedicated species gardens outside, the garden is a beautiful morning activity in Omaha. We know it may sound boring, but it is more fun than it sounds- at least in Izzy's opinion, she has yet to convince Gage to go.

The Old Market

Omaha, NE 68102

The Old Market is Omaha's historical downtown shopping and entertainment district. With cobblestone streets and original buildings that have been repurposed into shops, galleries, restaurants, and bars.

Others and Extras

Like all big cities- and yes Omaha is a big city, it has a little under half a million people- there are a lot of things to do. If you want recommendations for any activity you can think of whether it is golfing, hiking, strolling through parks, bar hoping, or restaurant touring (Omaha has the most restaurants per capita in the US), please just ask your closest contact and we will get you those recommendations!
