Gage proposed to Elizabeth on 1/8/25. It was sweet, private, and their friend Gabe was there to capture the moment!
Gage and Elizabeth’s story began in sixth grade at Mahomet-Seymour Junior High, but it wasn’t until seventh grade when they found themselves together in the jazz band rhythm section that their friendship truly began. Many of Gage’s closest friends lived in Elizabeth’s neighborhood, and the two spent their summer days with their friends paddle boarding on the lake, riding bikes, having bonfires, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Nearly every summer night ended the same way: staying up far too late messaging each other, neither wanting the conversation to end. As their friendship deepened, so did their affection. They went to the eighth-grade and high-school dances together, and their bond continued to grow later in high school as they served on the worship team at Grace Church of Mahomet. Their paths kept intertwining through the activities they shared together including: marching band, jazz band, madrigals, and the freshman mentoring program. When Gage left for college in Nebraska, they optimistically chose to begin a long-distance relationship. Gage worked tirelessly, completing his bachelor’s degree in construction management in just three years so they could finally close the distance. Meanwhile, Elizabeth worked to build a life she loved back in Mahomet, opening a thriving music studio and serving as a collaborative pianist for the couple’s alma mater. Gage proposed to Elizabeth in January of 2025, and both are endlessly grateful for the faithful way God has guided and shaped their love story.
