As a web developer (Matt) and working for a tech venture capital firm (Erin), it should shock no one that technology played a crucial role in our meeting (thanks Tinder!). On our third date, Erin casually slipped into the conversation that she was moving 3,300 miles away to London, England in just a few weeks. Despite only knowing each other a month, we decided to try make it work. We flew close to 40,000 miles over that year, visiting each other as often as possible. We still say to this day that if we made it through that year, we can make it through anything (yes, that includes quarantining together).
Starting with our first New Years together, we have loved ringing in the New Year in Boston's Seaport district with a nice dinner and fireworks. This year, we wanted to loop some friends in on the fun. Just after midnight, Erin looked over and Matthew was down on one knee. Erin screamed and asked "WAIT, WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?!" We're pretty sure she said yes at some point. Someone should probably confirm. Wait, are we actually even engaged?
