Some seasons feel like quiet preparation—like the soil being tilled before anything visible begins to grow. We met in November 2024 just as Gaelle was closing the chapter of her twenties and Jose was standing at the edge of his thirties. Without knowing it, we were both stepping into a new season at the same time. From the very beginning, one thing was unmistakable: peace and safety. It felt like finally exhaling after holding our breath for years. In every other relationship we had considered, something was missing—but here was a calm that felt unfamiliar, yet deeply longed for. This was the first serious relationship for both of us, and with that came unexpected challenges. Yet every time uncertainty arose, we brought it to God in prayer—and peace remained. Like an anchor in shifting waters, His presence steadied us. We learned what it truly means to sacrifice by making space for the one you love: We learned how to care for one another's heart besides our own. Our journey has been woven with laughter and prayer, growth and humility, vulnerability and wise counsel. It has required dying to self and learning how to become one—two lives gently stitched together by grace. Through it all, peace and safety have been the thread that never broke. Looking back, it’s impossible not to see God’s hand at work. We attended the same college, shared many of the same spaces and experiences, yet never met. God was writing our stories separately, preparing us quietly for the moment they would finally intersect. So it’s no surprise that we’re here now—planning a wedding, grateful for the reward that comes after a season of obedience. What began as preparation has blossomed into promise. With hearts full of gratitude, Gaelle & Jose
