It all began in the spring of 2022 at Kroger. Alexis was gathering supplies for a school project when David walked by and noticed her cart full of Twinkies. With a grin, he asked, “Are you going to save any for the rest of us?” That quick, playful moment turned into a conversation—and soon after, a connection neither expected. They discovered shared humor, a love for spontaneous adventures, and an easy comfort in each other’s company. Somewhere along the way, David started calling Alexis “Twinks,” and the nickname stuck. What began as a lighthearted grocery store encounter soon became the start of their favorite story.
