Jamie and I met each other through mutual friends at a really dark point in both of our lives. He had just lost his father, I had just left a bad relationship and was trying to manage a new life as a single mother. We became fast friends, almost immediately spending all of our time together. Neither of us wanted to be anything more than that at the time.
Fast forward to a few months later, I planned a trip for Jamie’s upcoming birthday in Boston, somewhere neither of us had ever been. We had an amazing time, and discovered that we both had romantic feelings for each other. Jamie asked me to be his girlfriend on the balcony of the Bostonian hotel, overlooking all of downtown!
