Like all great love stories, ours began in the middle of a global pandemic. It was the summer of 2020, during our senior year of college in Washington, D.C. Zoom classes were the norm, hand sanitizer was a hot commodity, and social plans were few and far between. Thanks to a little matchmaking by our roommates, we met—somewhat skeptically. Matthew thought Natalie might be too bold (she is from New Jersey, after all), and Natalie assumed Matthew would be too preppy (she wasn’t wrong). But it turns out, first impressions aren't everything. What started with cautious small talk quickly turned into long walks through Georgetown, spontaneous tapas dates, pizza on the National Mall, and wandering into every bookstore we could find. Somewhere along the way, we found comfort, laughter, and something neither of us saw coming: love. After graduation, we spent two years navigating long distance, balancing work, weekend train rides, and way too many FaceTime calls. In 2024, we finally moved in together and made a home in Weehawken, NJ. Five years later, we’re still each other’s favorite adventure, whether we’re traveling somewhere new or just picking out which pizza place to order from. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you—our favorite people.
