Rent a bike at Wheels Bike Shop and hit the trails. Steamboat Bike Park boasts 40 miles of trail that are sure to entertain and thrill. Advanced riders can choose to go to the ski mountain and take the lift to the top and ride the downhill trail. Alternatively, for intermediate riders, we suggest the various Emerald Mountain multi-directional trails. These will be a mixture of uphill and downhill trails. Our favorite is a combination of trails that take you to Morning Gloria (but be prepared for a half day ride). For beginner riders, we suggest the relaxing Yampa River Core Trail. This will start in Steamboat and take you 7 miles out of downtown, past the botanical gardens and down a beautiful river landscape.
Steamboat offers endless hiking options. For intermediate hikers, Fish Creek Falls is a favorite. Trails here suit all levels, including the fully paved, wheelchair-accessible Overlook Trail, which leads to a scenic view of the falls. A quarter-mile gravel path takes you to the base of the lower falls, where mist from the 280-foot cascade cools the air. To reach the upper falls, continue on a steep, rugged 2.5-mile trail climbing 1,600 feet through pine and aspen forest, with views of the falls and downtown Steamboat. For an easier hike, try Howelsen Hill, close to downtown and the river walk.
The standup paddleboard craze gets its own unique Steamboat twist here in the Rocky Mountains, where the wild and free flowing Yampa River makes for exciting whitewater paddleboarding, while quiet ponds are the perfect place to learn new techniques or try out SUP yoga. If vast, scenic lakes are your paddling style, paddleboard on Stagecoach Reservoir or Steamboat Lake and take in the views while basking in the warm sun and refreshing breezes.
Enjoy Steamboat from a different angle while rafting down the Yampa River right through the heart of historic downtown, with Bucking Rainbow Outfitters. Launching across from the ski mountain, we raft a couple of miles west of downtown Steamboat. Fun for the whole family, the trip takes about 1-1.5hrs on the water. The Yampa town section is a perfect trip for younger children and adults seeking a beginner ride down the river.
Enjoy a non-guided, leisurely float down the Yampa for approximately 2 miles of river (1-2 hours).Rent a tube first come first serve at the Blue Sky West Tube Shack, located at 735 Yampa. Rentals are $25 per tube and include a shuttle back into town. Single and double tubes available. First come, first serve.
Colorado rivers and streams are some of the best in the nation for fly fishing. Summer fly-fishing for trout near Steamboat Springs has become almost as popular as winter skiing. The Yampa River snakes its way right through Steamboat Springs, and is where the locals head to catch the Rainbow and Browns that live in its clear, fast-flowing water. We recommend booking a fly fishing trip with Steamboat FlyFisher Outfitters.
Check out Love, Yoga studio for a quick yoga flow one morning. For many years the funky building on Yampa Street housed bicycle shops. Now the historical landmark has been repurposed as the Love, Yoga studio and is bringing yoga and wellness to the heart of Steamboat, CO and the local community.

Table 79 offers craft cocktails and elevated comfort cuisine. Besame - Fun tapas style restaurant! Creekside Cafe - Amazing breakfast spot! Best pancakes in town. Salt & Lime - An excellent taco place for those looking for a quick (plus a margarita!), but delicious bite!
