It All Started With a Swipe It all started with a bold move on Bumble—with Gaby making the first move (as the app intended… and clearly, it worked). One well-crafted opener later, and Sime was intrigued. Gaby thought Sime was witty, funny, very handsome, and just a little nerdy. Sime thought Gaby was beautiful, hilarious, and refreshingly down to earth. Hooked From the Start We met in person on May 21st, 2022, and by the second date, Sime was completely hooked—not that he’ll admit exactly how fast that happened. From then on, we were inseparable. On July 7th, he made it official and asked Gaby to be his girlfriend. Family Is Everything Sime passed the ultimate test early—brunch with Gaby’s brother, sister-in-law, and their three boys. Gaby’s turn came when Sime’s cousin Marisa and Angelo visited Miami. He warned Gaby that Marisa was the hardest one to impress, but from the start there was an easy connection, and it all just felt right A few years later, spending Christmas in Connecticut with Sime’s entire family made everything even more meaningful. Gaby wasn’t treated like a guest, but like one of their own—and it was in those moments that we both knew this was forever. Our Perfect Balance We’re similar in all the right ways and different in the best ones—Sime brings the New York edge, and Gaby brings the Latina soul. At the end of the day, we’re best friends who love doing life together—whether that’s traveling, spending time with family, or just watching movies at home with our cats, Blue & Coco. The Big Surprise Then came Thanksgiving 2025—and Sime truly outdid himself. It started the night before, when he casually enlisted Aunt Mimi to suggest a simple morning “cake run” (a completely normal Thanksgiving errand… or so Gaby thought). What she didn’t know was that a photographer was already in place, his sisters, cousins, and aunt were waiting back home with a full engagement celebration, and—most incredibly—her mom, dad, and grandma had all flown to New York for the special occasion. On November 27th, underneath the iconic Unisphere at the World’s Fair Marina, Sime got down on one knee. Gaby said yes. They celebrated exactly how it was always meant to be—surrounded by both families, together. It was a day full of love, happy tears, and the perfect beginning to their next chapter.
