I was invited by a good friend (shoutout Hannah!) to a young adult event that Ross hosts each month at his house called Monthly Catholic. After meeting for the first time, neither of us thought it would be more than friendship, but the next month, we were asked to serve on a retreat team together. We started spending time working on retreat projects, then one night a group of our friends got together to go two-stepping at Wild West. After a few spins (and backflips), the dynamic shifted, and we have been dancing ever since! Our next big dance is coming up May 16, 2020!

Even though I wanted to shout my love from the mountain tops I knew Gaby would prefer a lower key proposal. So, I decided the mountains could wait and a nice quiet spot next to a lake would be best. Gaby and I had a favorite picnic spot where we went on one of our first dates that would be the perfect place. Since Gaby is a nurse, planning around her schedule took some sneaky skills. I didn’t want her to get suspicious, so I talked with her manager to find a day that she worked but would get off early enough to have a picnic. Once the date was set, the real excitement started. When it came to that special day, everything fell into place. The weather was perfect, the families were present, and everything went according to plan. Until... a low flying helicopter gave away our photographers hiding spot (shoutout to Leah Leftwich). Upon seeing the photographer and her boyfriend on one knee, Gaby put it all together and I popped the question.. then popped the bubbly!
