covid-19 Update

Two months ago when COVID hit, we made the hard choice to cut down our guest list from over 300 people to 50 people. This adjusted ceremony and reception will still be taking place at the Hutton House on June 5th, starting at 4:30pm. Please know that all changes being made are to ensure maximum safety of our guests while still being able to celebrate and gather responsibly. -Everyone will be encouraged to maintain 6ft throughout the event. -Hand sanitizer will be widely available. -Masks will be available. This will not be mandated for guests but all vendors will be wearing masks. -For the ceremony, every household will be asked to sit 3 chairs/6 feet away from one another. -The reception will take place outdoors immediately following the ceremony. It will be 2 hours long and very casual. Dinner, drinks, and dessert will be available, music will be playing, lawn games will be available, and we will have a no-contact photobooth. -Reception seating will follow current restaurant guidelines. We will have a suggested seating chart based on guest families/households, but this will not be strictly enforced. There will be extra tables set up if you are not comfortable being seated with another party. -Dinner will be buffet-style. Our caterer will serve all guests “lunch line style”, so no guests will make contact with any of the serving utensils. -Because there is no real “agenda” for the reception, there is no expectation for any guest to stay the entire duration of the event unless they would like to. If you would like to see the ceremony, grab a quick bite to eat, and then peace out after 45 minutes to limit public contact, go ahead and do that! Seriously, we will not be offended and we have restructured our event this way to allow for maximum flexibility. -If for any reason you still have hesitation with attending, the same principles apply that we will not be offended and we totally understand. We will also be livestreaming the event for all who cannot attend.

How We Met

3/8/17

Gaby and Nate’s story starts just like any other modern day love story. With a free vacation to go see Mickey Mouse. It all started when Nate’s friend from high school, Chloe, got a graphic design internship at Disney World that took place during the first half of 2017. She let the friend group know that anyone that wanted to come down to visit her during this time could take advantage of a free place to stay, free passes into Disney, and even a discounted flight thanks to her dad being a pilot. If you’re thinking that this would be a “no brainer”, you would be VERY correct. In March that year, Nate and his friend Alex flew to Orlando, FL eager to get out of the Minnesota cold, and to live out the dreams of 6-year-olds everywhere in the form of an all-expenses paid trip to Disney World for roughly the cost of two tanks of gas. Chloe had 2 roommates during this internship, both of whom she had met through a Facebook group dedicated to pairing fellow Disney interns together. Gaby happened to be one of these roommates. She was at home in South Florida visiting her family when Nate and Alex arrived, so they didn’t meet until a few days later. When Gaby did finally make her way back to the Orlando apartment, the only person home to greet her was Nate. She had a TV in her car that she needed help with bringing up to the apartment. Nate happily agreed to assist. Unfortunately, they discovered the TV was broken upon plugging it in. Working TV? Nope. Funny interaction to break the ice? Yep. The rest of that week was filled with miles of walking from park to park, Nate and Gaby discovering they could crack their leg in the same way, and even a shooting star sighting while talking out on the apartment balcony until the wee hours of the morning. Nate went back to visit a month later, and by the end of this second trip, Nate and Gaby were officially dating. Their families met a month later during a third trip in as many months. This was the start of their love story.

Engagement Story

4/11/19

Gaby and Nate did long distance for 2 years, while Nate worked in Minneapolis, MN and Gaby finished undergrad in Boca Raton, FL. In early 2019, Gaby was admitted to the University of Minnesota Veterinary School and planned on moving to Minnesota in April to finally close the gap on the long distance part of their relationship. Nate flew down to South Florida on April 10th to road trip with Gaby across the country back to Minnesota. Their first stop? Orlando, Florida. On the night of the 11th, Gaby and Nate went to Magic Kingdom to watch the fireworks show. Upon completion of the show, Gaby and Nate found a Disney photographer to take their picture with the castle in the background. During this photo opportunity, Nate got down on one knee and popped the question. They started their journey as boyfriend and girlfriend, and arrived in Minnesota engaged to be wed.
