We met at a theocratic project. Though the construction site was buzzing with activity, we were determined to give Jehovah our best. We were fortunate enough to serve in the same congregation during the project, which allowed us to observe each other’s spiritual qualities. The construction came to a conclusion and we both took on other assignments, one at Bethel and the other as an SKE graduate. Years passed but we never lost contact. As COVID discouraged travel and visits to bethel were brought to a halt, Gaby and her family's plans to visit Bethel fell apart. The opportunity for Gaby and I to rekindle our friendship seemed to be lost, but LOVE prevailed. A few conversations later with Jehovah's help she fell in love with me!
Traveling wasn’t an option, so I had to come up with a way to make the proposal somewhat special. What was my master plan? It began with a visit to a beautiful park close to her home. As the sun was setting, she was shocked to see a table where she found a laptop with a pre-recorded video where I posed on one knee and a freshly painted sign with the words "Will you marry me?" hung behind me. What about the ring? The new large print Spanish Bible had just been released, it was the perfect way to give her a spiritual gift and the ring! After embossing the Bible with her first name and my last name, the ring was hidden in a handmade leather pouch tucked in the spine of the Bible, then shipped to Texas. Just in time for the proposal! Not to forget, flowers and decorative lights made the occasion an unforgettable one, one we will have in our memory forever!! We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you through the screen!
