Gaby and Amanda’s story begins as the most modern of love tales — on a dating app. It was a late Saturday night in July 2020 (or early Sunday morning, depending on how you see 1 am), when Amanda created her Hinge profile. Just 24 hours later, she matched with Gaby. It was perfect timing as Gaby was just about to give up on dating for eternity after many months of scrolling, swiping, and subpar socially-distanced first dates. After a few FaceTime dates and a pair of precautionary COVID tests (in the days where you still had to go to physical sites and wait multiple business days for results), Gaby and Amanda went on their first date on July 25th, 2020… for 9 hours. Their date spanned multiple zip codes — from Darien to Greenwich to Manhattan to Brooklyn and back to Darien — and included lots of laughs, great vegan food, a bad drive-in movie musical (where there was no working sound), and thankfully, a lot of chemistry. They waited all of 24 hours to go on their second date, where Amanda had to parallel park in Brooklyn (the things you do for love), and the rest is history. Four years and more cats than we can count later (iykyk), we couldn’t be more excited to be celebrating our wedding with all of you in June!
