The summer of 2020 was chaotic for the world—but unforgettable for Gabryel and Hunter. Just one week before everything shut down, Gabryel moved to Colorado, knowing no one and settling into a house with three complete strangers. Meanwhile, Hunter was quarantining with close friends, filling his weekends with skiing, camping, and making the most of the unexpected pause. What felt like uncertainty at the time turned out to be the beginning of something truly special. Ready to make new friends, Gabryel headed to a friend-of-a-friend’s Fourth of July BBQ on a rooftop in Denver. Excited to meet new people, she struck up a conversation with Hunter—bonding over Mt. Joy, and their shared love for Pittsburgh. Not long after they met, the two went on their first date and never looked back. Since then, Gabryel and Hunter have experienced so many of the things Colorado has to offer—skiing, hiking, climbing, and camping—while also exploring beyond the state. They’ve traveled to different parts of the country, including renting a van in Hawaii and camping around the Big Island, as well as visiting multiple national parks. After five years of dating, on a warm September day, Hunter asked Gabryel to go to Bonnie Brae Ice Cream and take a walk with Odin around Washington Park—the site of their very first date (minus Odin, who wasn’t around yet). In the gardens of Washington Park, Hunter asked Gabryel to marry him. We are so excited to have you all here to celebrate our love, and we can’t wait to get married!
