Established in 1763, Fell’s Point is a city, state, and National Historic District and boasts more than 300 buildings on the National Register. Take a Baltimore Ghost Tour to uncover the neighborhood’s haunted history. Walk the Belgian block streets, the original stone bricks brought over by trade ships from Europe, to Broadway Market, a year-round indoor market built in 1786 that houses a number of international delicacies and local treats. Once you’re done, stop for a drink at the city’s oldest bar, The Horse You Came In On Saloon.
Where Baltimore’s shipbuilding and steel mills once stood, the Inner Harbor marks the central point of city tourism and offers a several-mile-long scenic waterfront path. Walk along the upper east path to pass the aquarium and upscale Harbor East shopping district on your way to Historic Fells Point. Alternatively, walk the opposite direction along the lower east path to climb up Federal Hill park, pop into the American Visionary Art Museum, or get ice cream at one of the several great options in the heart of Federal Hill.
A historical fort located on the south side of the harbor. Not only is it known for its role in the War of 1812, when it successfully defended Baltimore Harbor from an attack by the British navy, but it also was the sight that led Francis Scott Key to write what is now known as "The Star-Spangled Banner." It is free to walk around the peninsula park, and tickets can be purchased to explore the fort and its structures.
In addition to Topside and B-Side within the Hotel Revival, the neighborhood is home to many great cocktail lounges and bars within walking distance. Consider Bloom's, Sugarvale, Spirits of Mt. Vernon, Brewer's Art, Ash-Bar, Coral Wig, and Owl Bar among others - reservations recommended for some!
