Gabrielle and Kellen’s story starts in October of 2015, they were sophomores in high school and went to a haunted house with a group of mutual friends. They talked, laughed, and screamed through their night at the Haunted Hoorah and although they had never spent much time together before that night, something had clicked that evening. Over the next few weeks Kellen looked for excuses to talk to Gabrielle in school, like asking many times when the Pre-Calc homework was due, even though he already knew the answer. After a few dates at Gabrielle’s home town restaurant Local Roots, some scary movie nights, and a trip to the Zoo Lights they were official on November 23rd, 2015. Ever since Kellen and Gabrielle have enjoyed so many different chapters of life together from navigating high school, to being a Buckeye or a Battling Bishop for a weekend, and moving to their new home in Arlington, VA after graduation. After two and a half years of living in Arlington, Kellen planned to propose to Gabrielle in Georgetown, when the forecast called for a change of plans just a few hours before. To avoid the rain Kellen moved his proposal plans to Gabrielle’s favorite monument, the Lincoln Memorial. To keep the surprise, Kellen had told Gabrielle that they were going to dinner to celebrate their 9 year anniversary. Gabrielle had told Kellen the different foods she was excited to try at dinner that night, although Kellen knew they were not going to dinner, he did think the chicken parm also sounded good. The evening of November 22nd, 2025 Kellen and Gabrielle took a stroll down the National Mall and walked up the stairs of the Lincoln Memorial when Kellen got down on one knee and proposed to Gabrielle. Since then they have had a wonderful time celebrating their engagement with so many of you and we cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter in their lives in Columbus this June!
