We met back in 2016 at a church on a college campus. I was focusing on meeting new friends, finding a church community, and serving at church. Josh was focusing on serving on the leadership team. Both of us didn't have dating on our minds. We didn't think much about it or our friendship. We weren't even on each other's "radar". It wasn't until 1 year later in 2017, we realized how much we enjoyed each other's company even if it was just doing errands together. One night, I really wanted to go on an adventure and 5 minutes later Josh messages me "What are you up to?". Who would've known that night of night off-roading and conversation would've been the start of us.

We were going to Oatmeal, Texas for Christmas together. Never heard of it. Didn't even knew a town named Oatmeal existed. I was excited to meet his mom's side of the family for the first time over there in Texas. On Christmas Day, I looked at the tree to see all the pretty ornaments, as we were about to open presents. One side, caught my eye more as the light reflected off an ornament in an interesting way. When we were finished opening presents, Josh took a small white box from the exact side I was eyeing earlier (didn't even see the box earlier), got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him! I said, yes! And we shared our first kiss. He shared that he had the ring since July and asked for my parent's permission while I was at work the Friday we were leaving Reno to Texas. When I woke up that morning, I had no idea he was going to be proposing that day! Best Christmas surprise ever!
