What began years ago as high school sweethearts, to finding our way back to one another across the years, to starting a beautiful family together, our story unfolded exactly the way it was meant to. Somewhere between old memories and new beginnings, we built a home, a family, and a love that only continues to grow stronger. Through every season of life, we somehow always found our way home to one another. This celebration is more than just a wedding to us. It is the gathering of every chapter that led us here and the start of all the chapters yet unwritten. Candlelight, music, laughter, slow dances, happy tears, and the quiet joy of finally becoming husband and wife surrounded by the people we love most. We are so grateful you are here to share in this moment with us as we begin this next chapter as The Bakers. With all our love, Gabrielle & Dakota
Our story started on a school bus, which honestly feels very fitting because Dakota definitely knew how to make an impression. Gabrielle used to sit with his sister, Kendall, while Dakota spent the bus rides acting like he owned the place. He was loud, funny, popular, and always doing something to make people laugh. Somewhere along the way, he started noticing Gabrielle more, making faces at her from across the aisle, winking at her, and trying to get her attention every chance he got. After one particularly obnoxious morning, Gabrielle finally leaned over to Kendall and whispered, “Man… that guy is obnoxious.” Kendall casually replied, “Yeah, that’s my brother.” After a horrified apology, Kendall simply shrugged and said, “No, he is.” Despite the less-than-smooth introduction, Dakota eventually sat next to Gabrielle one day, and somewhere between the teasing, laughter, and everyday bus rides, a love story quietly started to unfold. Life would eventually take them through growing up, growing apart, and finding their way back to one another again, but somehow their story always led them home to each other. What started with an obnoxious boy on a school bus turned into a beautiful life, two amazing boys, and the greatest love story they could have ever imagined. And somehow, after all these years, Dakota still finds little ways to make Gabrielle laugh and get her attention… just like he did on that school bus.
