While going to school at York University; Gabrielle on the women's soccer team and Archford on the men's soccer team. Gabrielle fell ill with Covid in September of 2022. During the time of being sick a caring and concerned young man named Archford reached out via social media to see if she was okay. After that message and many more of getting to know one another, Archford asked Gabrielle on a date. In September 2022 they shared their first date to which they went to dinner and sat on the boat dock at the lake enjoying the sunset and dancing to music. After that incredible evening they continued spending as much time as they could together. After Gabrielle graduated in 2023 there was no doubt in their mind that they wanted to stay together even if that meant being in a long distance relationship. Through it all, by putting God first, their relationship has only blossomed. From plane flights, to late night phone calls, to 48 hour train rides, or even virtual date nights there was nothing that they wouldn't do to spend time together. Then, in July of 2024 Archford came to California for a visit, and Gabrielle wanted to share one of her favorite places with Archford...the Ocean. While standing on the beach God blessed them with a complete stranger who was walking their dog on the beach, who offered to take some photos of them. Little did he know he was going to capture one of the most special moments of their lives. Archford got down on one knee and asked for Gabrielle's hand in marriage, to which she without a doubt said YES! They cannot wait to start this next chapter of their life surrounded by friends and family!
