Gabrielle & Akeem: MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA

BouquetBouquet

Wedding Party

Kareem “Reem” Headley

Best Man

This is my little brother Kareem, who’s been by my side since day one—well, technically since he showed up eight years after me! Despite the age gap, we’re thick as thieves. He’s not just family; he’s been my ace and my best friend through it all.

Luny “Louna” Verly

Maid of Honor

Luny—aka Louna—is my Maid of Honor, my "twinn", and someone I love down bad. We met in medical school, but our friendship really began when she refused to let me isolate myself and disappear. She saw me, kept checking in, and from then on, we were locked in. She understood me like no one else, and when I met Akeem I remember telling her I think I met the male version of her because he and I were also in sync. She’s been with me through every up, down, and plot twist, motivating me through my hardest moments. Fun fact: the night before residency applications were due, Luny told me to apply to Family Medicine—something I hadn’t even considered and a speciality I used to make fun of. Now I’m a Family Physician and wouldn’t change a thing. So of course, she’s standing right beside me as I start this next chapter.

Kesley “Kes” Saul

Groomsman

Kesley is one of my closest and longest-standing friends. We’ve known each other since we were just kids growing up in church around eight or nine years old, and we even went to high school together. He’s been like a brother to me ever since.

Sherille Abraham

Bridesmaid

Sherielle is my bridesmaid, my sister-cousin, and the big-sister energy I didn’t ask for but absolutely needed. She’s been in my life since the day I was born and took me on as her own, no paperwork required. She always let me tag along with her and her friends, something I appreciated more than she probably knew. Sherielle has always been my go-to sounding board, giving top-tier advice and showing up every single time I need her, no hesitation. So of course she’s standing with me on my wedding day. She’s been doing “big sister duties” and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Yonnick “Nick” Hackshaw

Groomsman

Yonnick is one of my closest confidants, and we’ve been through so much together—from playing ball on the block as kids in Queens to discussing scripture and having Bible study sessions. We’ve watched each other grow from childhood into adulthood. He’s already married, and I’m excited to join him in this next chapter of life.

Roxanne “Roxy” Yarru-Small

Bridesmaid

Roxanne—aka Roxy—is my sister-cousin and the little sister I’ve always wanted. From dancing together as kids to building an even deeper bond later in life when she moved to America, our relationship has grown beautifully over time. I’m grateful to have her standing with me as I step into this next chapter.

Andre “Dre” Danvers

Groomsman

Andre is another one of my longest friendships. We got really close in high school, and honestly, we became even tighter after we graduated. It was pretty much the three of us—him, me, and Kessley—navigating life from those high school days into adulthood. He’s one of my guys, and I really appreciate his friendship

Patricia “Trish” Depre

Bridesmaid

Trish! I’ve known her since elementary school, when she came to St. Clare’s in 7th grade. From there, we went on to high school and became part of the same clique we’re still in today bonded over friendship, laughter, and dancing to the latest dancehall moves back then. Fast forward to adulthood, where Trish introduced me to my fiancé and called it from the very beginning telling us we were going to get married before we even believed it ourselves. So Akeem and I would truly be remiss if we didn’t have her join us in celebrating the love she helped bring together on our special day.

Josh Voltaire

Groomsman

Josh has become one of my closest friends, and our bond really grew out of the mutual respect we had for each other’s knowledge and business sense. He’s been a huge influence in my life—one of the guys who put me in a position to succeed professionally, and I’m truly grateful for that. Our friendship has evolved into a business partnership, and now he’s not just a close friend but also one of my most trusted allies. I really appreciate his loyalty, candor, and just having him there through it all.

Victoria “Vicky” Bourdeau

Bridesmaid

Vicky! My girl. We’ve known each other since high school, and Vicky truly understands me. She’s been part of my life, and my family, forever, from spending Christmases with us to becoming one of my mom’s kids along the way. Now in adulthood, our bond has evolved as we share medicine in common and, yes, trauma-bond over the struggles that come with it. Thank you for being there then, and for still being here now.

Jabari “Bari” Brown

Groomsman

Jabari—that’s my Trini cousin right there! Our friendship really grew out of our shared love for high-energy adventures and just enjoying life to the fullest. He became my go-to travel buddy, and we got closer while exploring new countries, playing ball, and talking sports. Now he’s truly like a brother to me, and I really appreciate his friendship and knowing I can always count on him.

Elésha Vialva

Bridesmaid

Elésha, my little sister, the one I always wanted, my mini-me. If I ever prayed for a little sister, it would be you. I’m so grateful we found each other and built such a genuine, familial bond. You’ve been incredibly supportive throughout this journey, always willing to lend a hand and stepping in whenever I needed it , especially during this engagement season. You even made sure I had an outfit for my proposal when I had absolutely no idea what was happening. I’m so thankful to have you by my side.

Mansur “Manny” White

Groomsman

Manny and I first met while working at Capital One Bank—I was the banker, he was the teller, and what started as a professional connection turned into a strong personal friendship. We found out we had a lot in common and shared some great times together from our early 20s into manhood. He’s really become one of my guys, and I truly value his friendship.

Christina Williams-Brown

Bridesmaid

Christina is my girl! We met in high school homeroom, where we sat next to each other for four years and created some of our best memories. What started as daily laughs and shared moments grew into a friendship that carried us well beyond those school days. In adulthood, our bond deepened even more as we watched each other move through different phases of life. Having her by my side now is a full-circle moment, and I’m grateful for a friendship that continues to grow with time

Sean “Mega” DesVignes

Groomsman

Sean—known to many as Mega—started out as a business connection and a fellow musician whose craft I really admired. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of watching him blossom into one of the greatest DJs out there, taking our events and brands global. Through all the ups and downs of building something together, we became more than just business partners—we became brothers. I’m truly grateful for his friendship, his partnership, and all the success we’ve shared along the way.

Keisha Short

Bridesmaid

Keisha!!! My baby love. We met in residency on day one during BLS training and built our bond while surviving the highs, lows, and everything in between that residency brings. From trips together to trying every Asian cuisine we could find—and sometimes just ordering in and catching up—our friendship was shaped through it all. She’s been in our corner from the very beginning.

Desmond “Junior” Morgan

Groomsman

Junior is Gabby’s big cousin, and from day one, he’s always looked out for her. Anyone who loves and takes care of my wife automatically gets my love too. We connected as fellow musicians and bonded over sports, and that’s grown into a real friendship. Every time we hang out, we build that connection a little more, and now I’m proud to call you family. I’m really grateful for the protective love and genuine care you have for Gabby, and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow that bond.

Mark Tyrell

Groomsman

Mark started out as my fiancée’s really close friend, and when we met about three years ago, he and I hit it off right away. He’s become like a brother to me, and we talk all the time. I really appreciate his candor, his loyalty, and his honesty—not to mention what a great friend he’s been to my fiancée. Now I’m proud to call him my brother too, and I’m grateful to have him in my life.

James McGeary

Groomsman

James, like Mark, is one of Gabby’s closest friends, and from the moment I saw his genuine loyalty and friendship with my wife, I knew he was someone special. It’s been great getting to know you, bro, and I’m glad to call you family now. Your energy lights up every room, and I truly appreciate the joy and good vibes you bring. It’s something I’m looking forward to having around us for a long time—good people, good energy, and that’s exactly what you are.
