No- we have decided as a couple, to keep this as an adults-only wedding.
We appreciate the thought of a gift sincerely but your presence is all we could possibly ask for at our wedding. Please don't worry about a gift!
• Use resources like Hopper to watch flight prices far in advance • We use Scott’s Cheap Flights (paid version) frequently to find cheap flights. It may require flying into another city or country but can really save money. • Airlines within the Europe can be a good resource if you’re flying in from another country. Look at Ryanair, EasyJet, Eurowings, Vueling Airlines. • Be in the know about COVID testing and/or vaccine requirements prior to travel • Be sure your passport is not close to expiring. It must be valid for 6 months after your scheduled travel date. The current wait time for passports is prolonged so plan ahead!
• You will book the hotel by contacting Marco at marco@rj-weddings.com. • Please book your room by February 1, 2022. A 25% deposit is required and the rest is paid upon checkout. • The rooms are small apartments with 1- or 2-bedroom options.
• Public transportation is generally easy and cost effective throughout Europe • Ensure you read all rules and restrictions regarding transit, especially when it comes to validating your tickets prior to boarding a train, bus, etc. • Most Europeans speak good English but learning simple phrases in the local language goes a long way!
• Attire for the wedding is semi formal. • The biggest thing to think about is electronics. Basic rule of thumb, if your device has a converter box (like a laptop), it just needs an adaptor. Without a converter box, you will need a combo converter and adaptor. • Europe can be hot in the summer and some places may not have air conditioning. The hotel does have AC! Pack accordingly!
• Contact the hotel with your arrival information and they will help you coordinate transportation to the hotel from the airport or trains station. • Ensure you bring a credit card that does not have any foreign transaction fees. • Generally, using an ATM when you arrive is better than getting Euros while in the US, better exchange rate. • Buy a prepaid SIM card in the airport upon arrival. You can easily swap out for your current one. The cost is about €30. Much cheaper than going through your US carrier in our experience.
