FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal or formal wear is requested. Dressier than casual. Women: knee-length, mid-length, or long dresses. Two piece ensembles, jumpsuits, suits. We recommend AGAINST stiletto heels as the ceremony is on grass. Men: dress shirts, button downs, dress pants, trousers, suit jacket.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are not doing a typical registry for gifts, as we don't necessarily need anymore "stuff." Truly your presence at our wedding is all we ask for. If you feel so inclined to want to gift us, we would be deeply grateful for contributions to our honeymoon fund. You can find those details in the "Registry" tab.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 4. Please arrive 15-30 minutes before. Feel free to come even earlier to check out the venue! (Historic Bell Hill) It's a gorgeous property with room to mosey around. The entire west side of the property overlooks the Shawnee Forest - it's beautiful. The ceremony space will be in the middle of the property in a grassy area. Don't worry, we'll have signs once you get there to point you in the right direction.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! We love kiddos. They're a part of the family. Kindly denote in your RSVP how many people total (including kids) are in your party!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation is to a "single" person, we most certainly welcome you to bring a plus one! Please be sure to denote this when you RSVP (an exact count of guests is crucial). If for some reason the website doesn't allow you to add a plus one, just send Gabrielle a text (her number is on the RSVP card you got in the mail) and she will help ya!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There is plenty of parking available on the property.

Question

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be held outdoors in a grassy, tree-lined area. Dinner and the reception will be indoors in a barn on the property. The cocktail bar is in the lower level of the barn. During game/cocktail hour feel free to explore both levels of the barn, or stay outside! You'll be free to hang out inside or outside to mingle during cocktail hour, and there will be plenty of places to sit and chat.

Question

How do I get to the wedding? Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Guests will be responsible for coordinating their own transportation to the wedding venue. Once you get there, we aren't changing locations! Ceremony, cocktail hour + reception will all be held at Historic Bell Hill (333 Bell Hill Rd. Cobden, Illinois 62920.) We DO have access to a golf cart on site if you need help navigating the uneven, grassy terrain on the property.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

While we can't predict what Mother Nature will bring on our special day, Spring in So. Illinois is typically mild to moderate. Keep in mind we are in the Shawnee Forest, so this brings a bit more variability in average weather conditions. Think mid 60s to mid 70s during the day & mid 50s in the evening.

Question
