Taylor and Gabriella first met at Washington and Lee University a few weeks after Taylor arrived on campus as a first-year. Gabriella, a junior at the time, was introduced to Taylor by a mutual friend because of their shared love for rooftops. Initially skeptical that someone who had been on campus for such a short time could really access W&L's roofs, she asked Taylor which was his favorite. When he shared that his favorite was one Gabriella did not even know could be accessed, she was pleasantly surprised and a wonderful friendship began. After a long friendship, their first date was in May 2019, a bluegrass concert at Lime Kiln Theater in Lexington, and they began dating shortly thereafter while Gabriella was living in Charlottesville during her fellows program. When Gabriella got into medical school and moved back home to Houston, they dated long-distance for over two and a half years! Dozens of visits, hours and hours of phone calls and FaceTimes, and countless letters ensued during those years. After Taylor finished school at W&L and his fellows program in Charlottesville, he moved to Houston as well. After enjoying life in the same city, Taylor proposed on the rooftop of Gabriella's apartment building's parking deck—one of their favorite spots in Houston—to which an ecstatic Gabriella responded, "Are you kidding me? Absolutely yes!" They are so excited to start their next chapter of life together and share their covenant of marriage with all of you!
