With roots in Venezuela, the US, and Switzerland, we wanted a place that would bring our diverse families and friends together. Given the strict policies on Venezuelan passports, this was a huge factor for us and Madrid offers Venezuelans the ability to travel without additional visas. Plus, with some of Gabriella’s family now living in Spain, Madrid has become a connecting hub for our family. We’ve completely fallen in love with this city—the rich culture, the vibrant energy, and the incredible food. We know you’ll love it just as much as we do!
During this time you can expect pleasant fall weather in Madrid. During the day, temperatures typically range from the mid-60s to mid-70s°F (about 18-24°C), offering warm and sunny conditions perfect for exploring the city. In the evenings, temperatures can drop to the mid-50s°F (around 12-15°C), so we recommend lightweight jackets or sweaters to stay warm.
Taxis and Ubers are safe, reliable, affordable, and readily available all over the city! You can also use apps like Cabify and FreeNow to get around which are popular in Spain. Madrid has amazing public transportation options. Google maps is a great option for checking what metro or bus line you should take to get to your destination. Many places are walking distance within the city center and we highly recommend taking advantage of the amazing fall weather and the beautiful architecture you will see all around!
