Lynchburg Regional Airport: Directly in town, very small, very quick, and easy to travel. Tickets directly to this airport are never cheap, but sometimes they are at an "okay" price. The convenience is great, but if you are traveling on a budget or with a large family, I would not recommend it. Exclusively American Airlines. Charlottesville–Albemarle Airport: Located a little over an hour away. The drive is easy and beautiful, but it is a drive nonetheless. Tickets tend to be at a better price here compared to other airports. The airport is small and easy to pass through TA. If you travel here then I would recommend renting a car to arrive to Lynchburg. Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport: Located about an hour away. The drive is easy and goes by fast! Prices are comparable to that of Charlottesville airport. If you plan on flying to Roanoke I recommend taking some time to see downtown. One of the most famous landmarks is The Star at the top of the mountain located in Roanoke. I would also recommend that you rent a car. Richmond International Airport: The least expensive out of all the other airports mentioned, but it is a longer drive. Located about 2 hours away, the drive is good, but I would not advise driving at night unless you are comfortable with windy roads. I would also not recommend that you land late at night at Richmond is a big city, therefore there are higher risks of safety. Charlotte Douglass International Airport: This is where most connecting flights connect. I love this airport! It is a big airport and tends to be better priced compared to most others, however, it is located in North Carolina. If you choose to fly to Charlotte then you will need to rent a car.
