Can I bring a date to the wedding?

All guests invited will be named on the invitation. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!

Do I need to speak Spanish?

It's not necessary to be fluent in Spanish, almost everyone speaks English.

What is the local currency?

Answer

Colones, but most places charge in dollars as well. Try to pay in dollars if the bill is in dollars and colones if the bill is in colones.

What about tipping and taxes?

Answer

Every restaurant will charge you a 10% service tax and 13% sales tax. If you feel the service was fantastic, any tip is greatly appreciated since waiters salaries are very low in Cost Rica. However it is not mandatory.

From December to April is dry season, no rains at all, usually dry and hot.

Unfortunately we are only able to accommodate the children in the wedding party at our reception. We appreciate your understanding.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

PLEASE DO NOT WEAR ANY GREEN, SAGE, OR CREAM FOR THE WEDDING. All other colors are okay to wear. Costa Rica is a tropical and warm destination! It’ll probably be in the 60’s in the evenings and up to high 70’s during the day. On the day of the event, please wear tropical formal wedding attire. This can be as a simple as a flowy maxi dress or tea dress for women and slacks with a button down shirt for men (long sleeve or short sleeve) raw linen and light fabrics are advised. For shoes, sandals, thick heels, wedges are recommended.
