About Sirmione
We are so excited to kick off Summer in Italy with you all! We know this is a far place to travel, and we appreciate you all joining us for our special day! Sirmione is a resort town situated on the Southern coast of Lake Garda in the province of Brescia. The town is perched at the top of a thin peninsula, making it almost entirely surrounded by Lake Garda. Lake Garda is close to several other beautiful Italian destinations, such as Lake Como, the Dolomite mountain range, Verona, Venice, and Milan. We encourage you all to extend your time and enjoy this beautiful region! All of our wedding events will be held at Villa Cortine Palace Hotel. There are limited rooms at the venue, so we will reach out to you individually to discuss booking rooms. We have listed several other hotel options that are very close to the venue. All events will take place at Villa Cortine Palace Hotel. We sincerely hope that many of you will be able to stay at the venue hotel with us, and we will reach out individually by September to discuss booking hotel rooms. We have also listed several other hotel options that are very close to the venue, including some that are within walking distance.
Flight
Milano Malpensa (MXP)
The closest airport with direct flights from the U.S. to Sirmione is Milano Malpensa (MXP). From Milano Malpensa, you can take the Malpensa Express train to Milano Centrale train station (approximately 1 hour journey), and then take the Trenitalia to Desenzano del Garda station (approximately 1 hour to 90 minute journey). From Desenzano del Garda station, Villa Cortine offers a private transfer (approximately 15 minute journey) which can be coordinated directly with the concierge. We recommend booking your trains in advance directly online. Both train lines run frequently (every 20-30 minutes). Alternatively, you can rent a car at Milano Malpensa airport and drive to Villa Cortine (approximately 2 hour drive). There is parking at Villa Cortine, which does not require advanced booking or incur additional cost. The historical center of Sirmione is a limited traffic zone. At front of the castle Scaligeri, you will find a local police station. You will be granted access with your car by providing the hotel booking information. Please note that in some particular days, the local police may decide to block the traffic momentarily, in this case there will be a parking area near the castle where you can park your car, and the hotel will pick you up via golf cart and take care of bringing your car to the hotel once traffic is opened again. If you plan on arriving by car, we recommend that you contact the concierge.
