The Castello di Potentino, where Gabriella and Gregory will celebrate their wedding reception, has a rich medieval history. The first document mentioning the castle dates back to 1042, when it belonged to Count Pietrone or Pepone. Its foundations, however, are believed to be Etruscan—a highly advanced ancient civilization. Over the centuries, the castle passed through the hands of prominent Tuscan noble families, including the Tolomei, Bonsignori, and Salimbeni. Saint Catherine of Siena once stayed at the castle.
In the late 16th century, the castle became a center for charitable works under the hospital order of Santa Maria della Scala. It was later granted by Duke Ferdinando I de' Medici to Marchese Giovan Battista Bourbon del Monte, a renowned commander of the Venetian Republic.
Today, the castle stands beautifully restored, providing a timeless and historic backdrop for Gabriella and Gregory's special day.
