We met at work at Mike Cotten’s BBQ. I was a cashier and he was a waiter (at the time).
After pulling long hours at work, we came home. I was about to go to bed when Fermin told me to wait. He stepped out of the room. Five minutes pass, and he comes in. I can tell by the look on his face that Fermin was contemplating something. He looked me in the eyes and asked “Will you be my Valentine?” And I accept (I bugged him that day, telling him he didn’t ask me to be his Valentine). We kiss for a few seconds and he tells me “Okay, one more question.” I hugged him, thinking of the inevitable. He then pulls out a ring box and asks “Will you be my wife?” Tears were rolling down our cheeks, and I happily accepted. He didn’t have to go all out. Its just a simple little gesture, but it changed our lives. I’m such a lucky woman to have him and be by his side.
