Groton Center

Main St, Groton, MA 01450

Groton is a historic town dating back to 1655 and its town center is charming. For coffee and breakfast there's the Salt & Light Cafe or a Dunkin if you really want that instead (sorry Bruce). Lunch is best had at Filho's Cucina, an excellent Italian restaurant that's BYOB and conveniently has a liquor store attached to it to take advantage of that. For dinner we recommend two options: Forge & Vine and Gibbet Hill Grill (our venue's standalone restaurant). Forge & Vine is directly behind The Groton Inn and is more seafood oriented. If you can get a table on their outdoor deck overlooking Gibbet Hill at sunset it's a great atmosphere. We personally prefer Gibbet Hill Grill a bit more, it leans steakhouse cuisine and located inside a historic restored barn. Our favorite is their hamburger which uses beef from cows that are raised within Groton itself. Other activities include hiking up Gibbet Hill to Bancroft's Castle or walking around Lawrence Academy's campus which was founded in 1793.

Where we went on our first date! Dennis worked here in high school as well. A Westford staple for generations, they're most well-known for their ice cream but also offer numerous other activities such as mini golf, a driving range and a 9 hole pitch and putt course. Their fried seafood is excellent as well. P.S. If you see Dennis' Uncle Ronny at the wedding, ask him about the cow he stole from here in 1978...
