Are the ceremony and reception in the same location?

Answer

Yes. Both the ceremony and reception will be inside, at the Barn at Melan Farm.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bride and groom will likely be taking pictures with the family and/or bridal party. Guests are welcome begin cocktail hour.

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are registered on Zola and Amazon. Also, the bride loves monogrammed items. :)

What is being served at the reception?

Answer

We will be serving full course meals and desserts.

Where will the ceremony and reception take place?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be indoors. Guests are more than welcome to talk and gather outside through the evening!

Can I take pictures during the ceremony or post on social media?

Answer

We will be having an unplugged ceremony so we ask that you please refrain from taking any photos or videos during the ceremony. We have hired an incredible photographer so please allow him to do his best work. During cocktail hour + reception - blow up our phones for when we get home! Please tag us in your photos + stories, and use our hashtag, #WaresTheThorntons!

What should guests wear?

Answer

Cocktail attire. We ask that guests not wear jeans. A tie is optional for the men but always encouraged. There is also grass, so please be mindful of your footwear. Also bring your dancing shoes! For our ladies that wear heels, a chunky heel is encouraged in case the grass is soft.

Can I bring the kids?

Answer

To give all of our guests the opportunity to celebrate without having to worry about little eyes and ears and to allow everyone the freedom to relax and enjoy the evening, we politely request no children, unless specified on your invitation. We hope you will understand our decision to make the wedding children-free, and take the opportunity to let your hair down and celebrate in style! Please refer to your invitation (being sent in January) for the amount of seats reserved in your name.

Can I bring a plus 1?

The invitations are addressed to those invited or specified the number of guests invited. If you have questions, please reach out to Gabriella.

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

The caterers and decorators do need a headcount for the event so please let us know, no later than May 1st, 2023.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony begins at 3PM. We will be opening the doors about 30 - 45 minutes prior to the ceremony.
