Cartagena is a popular tourist destination! We recommend booking flights 3-4 months out (Nov-Dec).
Guests can fly directly into Cartagena (Rafael Núñez International Airport), which is a 15-20 minute drive to the city center. For our New Yorkers, JetBlue offers daily direct flights from New York (JFK) to Cartagena. Flight number: B6 1533. For our Floridians, there are daily direct flights from Miami to Cartagena through Jetblue, Spirit and American Airlines.
Please be aware that customs at Cartagena's airport can have a notoriously long wait time (1 hour, sometimes 2 hours). They have made some improvements over the years but it's still best to be prepared. We apologize for the inconvenience ahead of time and will be eager to see you on the other side!
An optional alternative to avoiding long customs lines is to fly through the capital, Bogotá (El Dorado International Airport) and connect to Cartagena on a domestic flight. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!
