We met in 2016 when we were both asked by our good friend Serena to serve on the worship team for a church conference. It didn't take long before realizing we enjoyed each other's company and wanted to continue seeing one another after the conference ended! On the last day of the conference, Anup asked Gabi for her number and asked her out on a date. On our first date, we went to Anup's favorite spots of Hoboken including a quiet park overlooking the Hudson, a tour of his alma mater, and dinner at La Isla! Five years later, we are so grateful that God brought us together and look forward to our new life as husband and wife.

Anup chose Nyack Memorial Park, a beautiful park along the Hudson River, as the place he would ask Gabi to marry him. The park was very special to us as it was the place Anup asked Gabi to be his girlfriend about five years ago. On July 26th, 2020, with the help of Gabi’s closest friends Jackie and Lauren, Anup decorated the butterfly garden with Gabi’s favorite red roses. On the day of the proposal, Gabi thought she was joining her friends for a picnic, but little did she know, Anup was waiting for her in the garden. Gabi was so surprised to see Anup nervously smiling in the most beautiful spot by the water. Anup got down on one knee and asked Gabi to marry him, and of course, Gabi said yes to spending the rest of her life with him. Afterward, they met their families for an intimate celebration and ended the night with a romantic dinner for two!
