Ireland FAQs

Question

When is the RSVP deadline for Ireland?

Answer

Kindly respond by August 1, 2026. Early responses are greatly appreciated as we finalize our plans. We respectfully ask that you RSVP only if you are confident in your ability to attend.

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

We recommend flying into Dublin Airport (DUB), Ireland’s largest international airport and the closest major airport to our wedding events. It’s well connected to the city with taxis, buses, and shuttles available to the city centre.

Question

When should I book my accommodations?

Answer

Dublin fills up quickly, especially in Spring. We recommend booking your stay 6–12 months in advance for the best availability and pricing. Feel free to check rates periodically — hotels often adjust prices leading up to your stay. Many offer flexible cancellation policies if you find a better rate later. Please also set Google Flight Alerts and Sign up for "Aer Lingus" notifications for your dates to find the best pricing.

Question

What is the weather like in Ireland in April?

Answer

April in Ireland is mild and variable. Expect daytime temperatures in the 50s–60s°F (10–16°C), cooler evenings, and the possibility of light rain. Layers, waterproof jackets, and comfortable shoes are recommended. The landscape is especially green this time of year — it’s a beautiful month to visit! We are anticipating rain for our Wedding Day but would love to see sun. Please plan for rain!

Question

What are the logistics on the wedding day?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will take place on April 16, 2027 at the Howth Cliffs, followed by a celebration in the same area. Additional timing and transportation details will be shared as we get closer to the date. Transportation to the ceremony will be provided.

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony and celebration will be outdoors, with stunning cliffside views. There will be no covered or indoor backup plan in case of rain or high winds. Worst case scenario: we will get married before we eat at our dinner location.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

Due to limited space (on very tall cliffs), we’re only able to accommodate the guests listed on each invitation. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Am I allowed to take photos at the wedding?

Answer

We kindly ask for an unplugged ceremony, allowing everyone to be fully present. Phones and cameras are welcome again during the reception!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Think elevated semi-formal with weather-friendly layers. Spring by the coast can be breezy, so we suggest: Men: suits or dress pants with a jacket Women: midi or cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, or dressy separates Comfortable shoes are recommended for outdoor terrain, and a wrap or light coat is helpful once the sun sets.

Question

What time will the reception end?

Answer

More details will be announced as the schedule is finalized, but expect the festivities to last well into the evening!

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

While traditional open bars aren’t possible in Ireland, we’ll be covering the cost of drinks throughout the celebration, so please enjoy and raise a glass with us!

Question

Do I need a rental car?

Answer

No — a rental car isn’t necessary. Dublin has easy-to-navigate public transportation, and taxis and Ubers are widely available throughout the city.

Question

I have a question — who should I ask?

Answer

Please communicate any questions with Gabby and Collin as soon as possible.

Question

How long is the flight from the U.S. to Ireland?

Answer

Most flights are 6–8 hours and are overnight (“red-eye”) flights, meaning you’ll land in Ireland early in the morning.

Question

How long does it take to adjust to the time difference?

Answer

Most travelers feel settled after 24–36 hours, which is why arriving on Wednesday gives you plenty of time before festivities begin.

Question

What can I do to minimize jet lag?

Answer

Stay hydrated, limit caffeine and alcohol during the flight, and try to get some sleep if possible. Once you arrive, get outside for some fresh air and sunlight. If you need a nap, keep it to a short midday rest, then get up, head out, and enjoy a normal afternoon and evening. Sticking to a regular bedtime will help your body adjust to Ireland time much faster.

Question

Is it normal to feel tired even after a nap?

Answer

Yes—your body is adjusting. A short nap (30–60 minutes) is fine, but try not to sleep too long so you can get on Ireland time quickly.
