Our Story
In 2019 (a lifetime ago), Gabriel visited the Institute of Fine Arts while applying to PhD programs. Robin was his tour guide. From that first meeting, we loved to show each other new worlds. But academia had other plans for Gabriel — off he went to Madison.
That might have been the end. But a year and a pandemic later, Gabriel spotted Robin on Twitter. Messages became weekly calls became daily calls. One day, an incredibly nervous Gabriel asked Robin if maybe one day he might want to go on a date.
Robin said yes.
In 2020, we could barely imagine being back in the same room, but the exact minute that we had vaccines, Gabriel jumped on a plane to New York.
We've been inseparable ever since. We got engaged at the top of a hill at the Evergreen Brickworks in Toronto in November 2022, a favorite spot of Gabriel's growing up. After years of planes and trains, we landed in Baltimore, ready to build our home together.
