Travel Info

GETTING IN
*Flights to Kenya*
We’re so grateful you’re traveling from near and far to celebrate with us!
For our international guests, we recommend flying into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi. If you're able to attend the Rũracio in Embu on the 14th of February 2027, we recommend you arrive in Nairobi by 13th February 2027. We will communicate transport options from Nairobi to Embu in due course, once we have more info on the number of people attending.
If you're flying in for the wedding ceremony in Kilifi on the 19th of February, you can fly into Nairobi then take a connecting flight to Malindi International Airport. The flight takes approximately one hour.
*Flights to Malindi*
Malindi is the nearest airport, a 1.5 hours drive away from Kilifi. We urge you to book Nairobi to Kilifi flights before the end of the year, as February is a domestic holiday season around Valentine's Day and seats can run out quickly at the start of the year. If you fly on the day of the wedding, we advise you to land in Malindi latest 11am.
*Flights to Mombasa*
If you prefer to fly into Mombasa rather than Malindi, Moi International Airport (MBA) is well served from Nairobi JKIA. From Mombasa, Kilifi is approximately 56 km away, around 2 hours by car. We can recommend drivers if needed. If you fly on the day of the wedding, we advise you to land in Mombasa latest 10am due to traffic.
*Alternative Travel*
You may also travel by SGR train (book here: metickets.krc.co.ke) or road. We advise you to arrive the day prior, as the train arrives 3.30am, 2pm or 10pm at Mombasa Terminus each day.
*Visas*
Foreigners may need to apply for a visa in advance at https://etakenya.go.ke/form/apply/start. We recommend at least two weeks. If an invitation letter is required for your visa application, we'll happily send one to you. Please also check if you're required to present a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate before you travel.
GETTING AROUND
*Getting Around Nairobi*
Uber and Bolt are widely available and can be used for airport transfers. We generally recommend Uber or Little Cab, particularly for female guests. Most drivers prefer cash or M-Pesa payment, which is the local e-wallet. We highly recommend you to get a Safaricom sim card, to access M-Pesa services, from one of their outlets once you arrive and do ensure you have your passport with you to register for a new line.
*Getting Around Kilifi*
Boda bodas (motorbike taxis) and tuk-tuks are everywhere and cheap. Expect to pay 200 to 300 KES (roughly 1.50 to 2.50 USD) within town, and up to 400 to 500 KES for the outskirts. Always agree on the price before getting in. Your hotel can arrange a trusted driver for longer trips or late evenings.
