***UPDATE*** Our wedding has been postponed. Please check our FAQS page for a message to all our guests. Our musical passions first brought us together. Anacatlan, the mariachi Gaby was a member of was booked to appear on Kilson Street, Mo's homegrown YouTube show he puts on with family and friends out of his mom's garage. By a turn of events, Anacatlan had to cancel the night before and Gaby sent the regretful email to Mo who replied with understanding. Prior to that email, we had never communicated or even met each other before. A few months went by and we finally met for the first time through mutual friends in Downtown Santa Ana. There was an outdoor music festival taking place, Gaby was in her mariachi traje as she had just come from a gig, and Mo was taking an extremely rare break to socialize. We ended up at our friends music studio nearby where Gaby first witnessed Mo's musical talents on a drum set. We didn't see each other again for a few more months until Gaby spotted Mo at a China Woman show at Native Son (literally right above The Frida Cinema where we’ll be getting married). We struck up a conversation, which turned into dinner and Gaby giving Mo a ride home. After a few dates, we took off to Monterey together for the holiday weekend and the rest is history. We're pretty inseparable these days and it's still very much centered around music and community. Whether it's filming bands for Kilson Street, hosting Open Mic at Coffee Muse, setting up, breaking down, and sound engineering at El Indio, or curating entertainment for Viva La Vida, you can often find us happily working side by side in the town where we first met.
