Our big day is on the way

We never really met, we just kind of always knew each other. There wasn’t a big introduction or dramatic moment. We were just... there, in each other’s worlds, like background music waiting to become a melody. And then, one night, we danced salsa. It was unexpected, one of those spontaneous moments where everything aligned. As we moved together, something shifted. Time seemed to slow down, the world faded around us, and in that rhythm, we both felt it... a spark. Unspoken, undeniable, and unforgettable. After that night, the connection grew naturally. One day, we hang out, something simple, just to spend time together. And from that small moment, everything began to unfold. We’d spend hours sitting on the rocks by the water, talking about life, sharing stories, laughing, and sometimes just appreciating the silence, watching the waves. It quickly became more than just a hangout spot, it became a sanctuary. A place where we could show up exactly as we were. It was peaceful, grounding, and felt like our own little world. The beach gave us the space to connect without distractions, without pressure. Just us, the sound of the waves, and the feeling that somehow, we were exactly where we were meant to be. Over time, it became the heartbeat of our relationship. The place where we truly got to know one another, where we fell in love, and where we always returned. Whether it was to celebrate, to reflect, or to simply just be. Then came August 14th, 2016. We were at Lakeshore, surrounded by the city lights and the gentle sounds of the water. That was the night that a very important question was asked. ( Will you be my girlfriend? )And (Gabriela here!) I said yes, with zero hesitation and a very full heart. Since then, we’ve shared nearly a decade of life and love together, traveling across countries, learning each other’s rhythms, and languages, growing through every season. From busy cities to tranquil forest, from unforgettable adventures to simple routines, we’ve built a life full of memories. And still, no matter where we are in the world, we always find our way back to the water. These days, we sit by the shore with fishing rods in hand, still talking for hours, still laughing, still finding comfort in the same place where it all began. Then, on December 3rd, 2024, in the stunning beauty of Praia de Água d'Alto Grande, Marlowe asked Gabriela one more very important question, the one that changed everything. And (Gabriela again!) with tears in my eyes and so much love in my heart, I said yes. Now, almost ten years later, we’re ready to begin the next chapter of our story as husband and wife. In celebration of our 10-year anniversary, we’ll be surrounded by the people who’ve supported and loved us through every step of the journey, and we couldn’t imagine a more meaningful way to begin forever together. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Nunca nos conocimos realmente, simplemente siempre supimos el uno del otro. No hubo una gran introducción ni un momento dramático. Simplemente estábamos… ahí, en los mundos del otro, como la música de fondo esperando convertirse en una melodía. Y luego, una noche, bailamos salsa. Fue inesperado, uno de esos momentos espontáneos en los que todo se alinea. Mientras nos movíamos juntos, algo cambió. El tiempo pareció ralentizarse, el mundo se desvaneció a nuestro alrededor, y en ese ritmo, ambos lo sentimos... una chispa. No hablada, innegable e inolvidable. Después de esa noche, la conexión creció de forma natural. Un día, simplemente salimos a pasar tiempo juntos, algo sencillo. Y de ese pequeño momento, todo comenzó a desplegarse. Pasábamos horas sentados sobre las rocas junto al agua, hablando de la vida, compartiendo historias, riendo, y a veces solo apreciando el silencio, mirando las olas. Rápidamente se convirtió en algo más que un lugar para estar, se convirtió en nuestro santuario. Un lugar donde podíamos llegar tal como éramos. Era pacífico, reconfortante, y se sentía como nuestro pequeño mundo. La playa nos dio el espacio para conectar sin distracciones, sin presiones. Solo nosotros, el sonido de las olas, y la sensación de que, de alguna manera, estábamos exactamente donde debíamos estar. Con el tiempo, se convirtió en el latido de nuestra relación. El lugar donde realmente nos conocimos, donde nos enamoramos, y donde siempre regresábamos. Ya fuera para celebrar, reflexionar o simplemente estar. Luego llegó el 14 de agosto de 2016. Estábamos en Lakeshore, rodeados por las luces de la ciudad y los suaves sonidos del agua. Esa fue la noche en que se hizo una pregunta muy importante. (¿Quieres ser mi novia?) Y (¡Gabriela aquí!) dije que sí, sin dudarlo ni un segundo, con el corazón lleno de amor. Desde entonces, hemos compartido casi una década de vida y amor juntos, viajando por países, aprendiendo los ritmos y lenguajes del otro, creciendo juntos en cada estación. Desde las ciudades bulliciosas hasta los tranquilos bosques, desde aventuras inolvidables hasta rutinas sencillas, hemos construido una vida llena de recuerdos. Y aún hoy, sin importar dónde estemos en el mundo, siempre encontramos el camino de regreso al agua. Hoy en día, nos sentamos junto a la orilla con cañas de pescar en mano, todavía hablamos durante horas, seguimos riendo, seguimos encontrando consuelo en el mismo lugar donde todo comenzó. Luego, el 3 de diciembre de 2024, en la impresionante belleza de Praia de Água d'Alto Grande, Marlowe hizo una vez más una pregunta muy importante, la que cambió todo. Y (¡Gabriela de nuevo!) con lágrimas en los ojos y mucho amor en mi corazón, dije que sí. Ahora, casi diez años después, estamos listos para comenzar el próximo capítulo de nuestra historia como esposo y esposa. En celebración de nuestro décimo aniversario, estaremos rodeados de las personas que nos han apoyado y amado en cada paso de este viaje, y no podríamos imaginar una manera más significativa de comenzar para siempre juntos. ¡No podemos esperar para celebrarlo con ustedes!
