Gabriela and Alex’s (Luis) story first began in March of 2015, they just didn’t know it yet. They met at work, him on day shift, her on night shift, but to their advantage on the same unit. One day she was asking her coworkers for their numbers, so she nervously dared to ask him for his as well. When she texted him saying who it was, to her surprise their conversation never ended. Butterflies were felt all around. It wasn't until the summer of 2016 when they started dating. For their first date, they had empanadas at Cositas Ricas, and if you know Gabriela it was one of her favorite places for Colombian empanadas. Since then they’ve been eating and traveling the world together!
Shortly after they came back from Ecuador, their annual Disney World trip was just around the corner. This time they went with her sister (maid of honor), Andrea, and her boyfriend (groomsman), Andy, for the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. Little did Gabriela know the three of them were scheming the whole time! After years of trying, they were finally able to make dinner reservations at the ‘Be Our Guest Restaurant’ in Magic Kingdom. They started their evening by meeting ‘The Beast’ in his castle, followed by a delicious three course meal. It wasn’t until dessert when the magic truly happened. She was so in awe by the beautifully plated dessert, the waiter had placed directly in front of her, that she didn’t notice what was sparkling inside her raspberry macaroon. She had even taken a picture of it, and was still oblivious as to what Alex had done. It wasn't until she broke a piece of the macaroon that she realized what was inside. At that moment, she only saw and heard him say his declaration of love for her and his dreams of their future together. Through tearful eyes, she said "YES!"
