How we met

High School 2013

Our story began long before either of us realized it. We first met in high school, where we shared the same circle of friends. He was on the football team, and I was a cheerleader. Although our paths crossed often, we were simply acquaintances, never imagining that one day we'd be planning a life together. After graduation, life took us in different directions, but fate wasn't quite finished with us. Thanks to our mutual friend, Thomas, our paths crossed again at his annual birthday BBQ. We saw each other there one year, then again the next, and with each meeting, what had once been a familiar face slowly became something much more. So eventually the groom slid into the brides DM’s. What started as chance encounters grew into a friendship, then a relationship, and before we knew it, we had found exactly what we'd been looking for in each other. Looking back, it's amazing to think that the person who would become the love of our lives had been there all along. Now, we're so excited to begin our greatest adventure yet and can't wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of the people we love. Fun fact: Josh use to ride his bike down the same street of gaby’s childhood home, crossing paths long before they knew. The strings were attached long before they knew.

Our Daughter, Kobie Lailah Davila

May 27th 2023

Our greatest love story became even more beautiful when we welcomed our greatest blessing. In 2022, we shared the exciting news that we were expecting our first child. On May 27, 2023, our daughter entered the world and forever changed our lives. From the moment we held her in our arms, she became the center of our world and our greatest joy. As we begin this next chapter as husband and wife, there is no greater gift than having our daughter by our side to witness the love and commitment that brought our family together. Having her share in this day makes our celebration even more meaningful, and we are honored that she will stand with us as we say, "I do." She is the reason behind so many of our smiles, the heart of our little family, and the greatest reminder of the beautiful life we are building together. We cannot wait to celebrate this unforgettable day with her and with all of the people we love most.

The Proposal

July 26th 2025

Their proposal story is one they have been so excited to share. Zion National Park had always held a special place in their hearts. For years, they dreamed of taking a road trip through Utah together, but with the excitement of expecting their daughter, the bride pursuing her master's degree, and the many responsibilities of everyday life, the trip was continually postponed. As the bride approached the completion of her graduate program, the timing finally felt right. What she didn't know was that the groom had been quietly planning the proposal for six months. Somehow, he managed to keep every detail a secret, allowing her to believe they were simply setting off on the adventure they had always talked about. When they reached one of their dream destinations in Zion, the groom found the perfect moment. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, he got down on one knee and asked the love of his life to marry him. In that unforgettable moment, their forever began, and so did the journey toward becoming The Davilas. One of the most meaningful parts of the proposal came afterward, when the bride learned about the thoughtful conversations the groom had with their loved ones before asking for her hand in marriage. But the sweetest moment of all was watching him show their daughter "Mom's ring" and giving her the honor of placing it on her little finger. It was a beautiful reminder that this proposal was not only about the two of them, but also about celebrating the family they had already created together and the future they would continue to build as one. Fun Fact: Kobie had been telling Gaby for a couple weeks “mom’s ring” but Gaby wasn’t understanding thinking she was just referring to moms fun jewelry she liked to play dress up with.
