We’re getting married!

Our story starts at the same place where we are getting married, Finca San Bernardo outside of Guatemala. After hours of dancing and some food truck tacos, by the end of the night we felt we had found something special. Gian Paul thought he was going on a short weekend trip from Chicago and Gaby a nice break before her last semester in college. Little did we know we were starting the trip to the rest of our lives. Nuestra historia comienza en el mismo lugar donde nos casaremos, la Finca San Bernardo a las afueras de ciudad de Guatemala. Después de horas de baile y al food truck de tacos, para el final de la noche sabíamos que estaba empezando algo especial. Lo que Gian Paul pensaba iba a ser un corto viaje de fin de semana para salir de Chicago y Gaby un pequeño break antes de su último semestre de Universidad, terminó siendo de un viaje para el resto de nuestras vidas. ···

After a little bit more than a year dating, 7 months of COVID and countless flights, GP decided to propose to Gaby – and she accepted! While Gaby thought she was going to an exclusive culinary event with her friend Manuela, Gian Paul surprised her by proposing at the rooftop of the Robey Hotel in Chicago. The surprise got even better once Gaby realized that both of their families where also present from Honduras and Guatemala to share that special moment with them. Después de un poco más de un año saliendo como novios, 7 meses de pandemia y demasiados vuelos, Gian Paul decidió proponerle matrimonio a Gaby, y Gaby dijo que sí. Mientras Gaby pensaba que iba a un exclusivo evento culinario con su amiga Manuela, Gian Paul la sorprendió pidiéndole matrimonio en el techo del Hotel Robey en Chicago, con la sorpresa adicional de que sus respectivas familias viajaran desde Honduras y Guatemala para compartir este momento tan especial con ellos. ···
