Yes! We'd love to see our family and friends dressed up with us! We are requesting formal or Black-Tie optional attire for our wedding.
We decided to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event (The only exception are the little ones in our bridal party/immediate family). We hope you understand and enjoy a night off!
El Salvador's official currency is the dollar USD ($).
The easiest and most practical way to transport is by car. We highly recommend to book a car or a shuttle during your visit. Public transport is also available but it might be challenging if you don't speak the language + timelines are irregular.
El Salvador's official language is Spanish. In hotels and touristy restaurants you are likely to find staff that speaks English fluently, nevertheless we still recommend you to practice tu español ;)
If your mobile company is from USA or Latin America it'll be easier for you to activate your roaming for your travel. If you are traveling from Europe, we recommend you to activate an eSim from websites like Airalo.com or Knowroaming.com. You can also get an e-sim in El Salvador by visiting a mobile store like TIGO or MOVISTAR.
As you might know, El Salvador did have a very difficult situation regarding safety for many years. This has significantly improved in the last years and you can visit all the places we've listed without worry. We recommend you to follow the standard traveler principles: be aware of your surroundings, follow common sense and exercise caution.
Gaby's top places are: 1) Lago de Coatepeque (We got this one covered ;)) 2) Ilamatepec Volcano (For the adventurers!) 3) Playa el Sunzal | Playa el Zonte | Playa el tunco in La Libertad (All these beaches are close to one another, you can visit them during the day and have the best seafood! Or you can also book your stay and explore a little bit more the area, we've include some places in our travel section) 4) San Salvador's volcano (El Boquerón). You can hike the volcano (It has steps, it's a 20 min hike) and then enjoy the area and try out many good restaurants with a nice city view! 5) Ataco and Apaneca (Small rural towns) You can spend your afternoon over there, maybe book a coffee tour and enjoy traditional food! 6) Suchitoto (Small rural town) You can visit during the day, wonder in it's streets full of culture and color, there's also a lake near by and many restaurant options!
