It's Getting Real

We met at UIC when I was working the front desk. It was late 2011 when Kenny(KB) approached me, to ask what was my nationality. Just like everyone, he thought I was Puerto Rican. When I said no he started listing all these other nationalities and I told him my parents were from Honduras (Central America). Since then we were inseparable. He asked to take me to lunch. (I couldn't turn down free food lol). Of course I was playing hard to get, but Kenny wasn't the type I would take interest in but God had other plans. It was almost everyday that we were going to lunch. He came to keep me company that Thanksgiving since I had to work. Feelings started to develop and I was denying them. We were both in a relationship. We respected each other and we became the best of friends. Every where we went to eat people would tell us that we make a cute couple and I would blurt out and say we're just friends and they would say that we will be together. I wouldn't have believed it until he asked me to be his girlfriend in 2013 on my couch. I was hesitant because like I said he wasn't my type and had a baby on the way, but he had all the qualities that I was looking for and what I had asked God for. I took a chance and went out of my comfort zone. Never been with someone who's not Latino. Yes, we have differences but we complete one another. My yin to my yang. 4 years later and he FINALLY popped the question. The funny thing is we had went to a friends wedding in 2013, while still friends and we were planning our wedding. Who was going to be my bridesmaids and his groomsmen, who we were going to put together, food, colors... everything. Now we're here planning our actual wedding day. More me than him but it's okay all he has to do is show up. I love him and our kids. Can't wait to make it official.
