South Pointe Park is a beautiful 17-acre park and pier located on the southern-most tip of Miami Beach. Stroll out on the South Pointe Pier and watch as anglers reel in their catch and get a close-up of giant cruise ships gliding through Government Cut. Gabe took Allison to this park on her first trip to visit him in Miami Beach. Since then, they have enjoyed meals at steakhouse Smith & Wollensky, where the reception will be held, and at Monty's for their seafood and their sunsets.
Some South Beach highlights we recommend: Ocean Drive, which abuts Lummus Park, runs along the Atlantic Ocean. It is located in the heart of the Miami Beach South Beach entertainment district. Great for people watching during the day and known for its nightlife. Additionally, it has some of the most well-known Art Deco buildings in the world. Lincoln Road Outdoor Mall Enjoy shopping and lots and lots of people watching
We've done their Millionaire's Row cruise and a Big Bus Tour. Lots of fun. Allison saw her first manatee at the dock after the cruise. The cruise is a great view of Biscayne Bay. The Big Bus Tour includes the highlights of the Miami area.
The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, previously known as Villa Vizcaya, is the former villa and estate of businessman James Deering, of the Deering McCormick-International Harvester fortune, on Biscayne Bay in the present-day Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Florida. The early 20th-century Vizcaya estate also includes extensive Italian Renaissance gardens, native woodland landscape, and a historic village outbuildings compound.
Little Havana -- the heart of Cuban Miami -- is a place to get Cuban food and watch the old caballeros and caballeros (gentlemen and ladies) play dominoes. It's great for walking around and window shopping. We recommend going to La Carreta, an authentic restaurant with reasonable prices, and then getting dessert across the street at Cafe Versailles.
