Met when they were 3 by bonding over a dead worm Morgan found in her driveway. From then on they did everything together from camps, to sports, and to vacations. Tay pretty much became the 5th Timmer sibling in their very welcoming family. They have been in each other’s lives for all the big moments – the good, the bad, and the ugly, but mostly the good. Morgan is strong, funny, generous, the life of the party, and the best Mizu Sushi date. She has been a rock in Tay’s life ever since they met and the best friend anyone could ask for.

Best Man
Gabe and Luke have the beauty and brains of the VanLangevelde men and Simon was born first. What he lacks in looks and smarts, however, he more than makes up for in dad jokes. As both an avid Detroit Lions and LSU Tigers fan, he enjoys the finer elements of sports- heartache and paying players. As the oldest, he has been a rock for the family, and a mentor and best friend for Gabe. An absolute ball to be around, look for him sipping Gin, practicing his New Dad Dance Moves, and sweating.

Met as freshman in high school during cheer. Roomed together for 4 years in college and if it wasn't for Gabe and Zach, would probably still be roomies. Whether it was a work out, going out, or skipping out on class, Morgan was always there. Inevitably when neither could make a decision, they stayed in and ate cookie dough and watched teen dramas. Always a door away for late night chats, she has had Tay's back and has never been afraid to voice an honest opinion. She is a cherished bestie and Tay couldn’t imagine doing life without her.
Luke VanLangevelde
Best Man
Luke got the best of both worlds from his older brothers- two tree stumps for legs from Simon and Strawberry Blonde facial hair from Gabe. No doubt the smartest of the VanLangevelde clan, it takes a minute to see, so make sure to give him time. As the youngest, Luke is also the most mature, has an incredible sense of humor, and is also Gabe's best friend. A great time, look for him sipping Whiskey and straightening, aligning, and organizing all the place settings if they are out of line.
Stephanie Lindemann

Met in 1999 when Tay and her brother were spying in their dad's office to see who their new neighbors were. Inseparable from that moment on, there were many pool days, sleepovers, family trips, and interest in anything their older brothers were doing. Tay and Stephanie would always visit each other at GVSU and Michigan State to go to tailgates and spend as much time as they could with each other. Super sweet and a great listener, Steph is an amazing friend, and no matter the distance, they can always pick up right where they left off.
Ben Edewaard

Ben and Gabe met in high school. Alleged inventor of the cotton gin, napkin suit (Gabe's invention), and once beat Gabe up (no sources cited). Also, a one time power lifter until he stopped to focus on his Latin career. Indomitably positive, unless you put ice in his drink, then combative. A steady rock throughout Gabe's life and a constant positive presence, Ben's energy and fun demeanor is always something Gabe looks forward to when coming back. A hoot to be around, find him.... just kidding- listen and you'll be sure to hear him.
Megan Timmerman

Met sophomore year of college and ended up living together for their senior year. Would take out all the kitchen utensils, pots, and pans and play them to the Tarzan song "Trashin' the Camp". Many late-night chats, wine nights, and spending time up north at Megan’s cottage made their friendship grow. Not only did they live together, but both were hospitality and tourism management majors. Outgoing, bubbly, and fun to be around, Megan has been and will always be a dependable and considerate friend to the end.
Cody Zoerhof

The anchor and former Left Tackle on the high school football team where Gabe and Cody met. A founder of the "Left Side", where Gabe, Cody, and Ryan go to different restaurants and buy staggering amounts of food. Club leader when it comes to "breakfast balls" and the avid user of the foot wedge. A hilarious and reliable friend for years, despite being a Michigan State fan, Cody has had a huge impact on Gabe's life. A laugh you'll be able to hear over the DJ, you can find him drinking Bud Light and practicing his pass protection on the dance floor.
Josie VanLangevelde

Met in 2016 on one of the many party buses for Gabe, she is Gabe's oldest sister. Josie is an amazing dance partner and she and Tay have shared many fun times over the years on the dance floor (Shellback’s, vacations, weddings, and even lifeguard stands). Creative, genuine, and kind, Tay is ecstatic that Josie only lives 40 minutes away and has gotten to spend more time bonding over family dinners, beach days, and cheering Josie on at her kickball games. Tay is so excited to have her as a sister.
Ryan Brink

Met in high school and the second member of the "Left Side". Would almost certainly "rather be farmin". His amazing qualities are outweighed by his Spartan fandom, but it's a riff they have been able to overcome. Holds the record for asking for Parmesan at Fricanos (a place that doesn't and has never had Parmesan). An outstanding friend and one of the most down to earth people you'll ever meet. Find him drinking a Captain and Coke and reminding Gabe who he has to block after forgetting the play everytime.
Leah VanLangevelde

Met at a family happy hour in 2017 right after Gabe and Tay had started dating, she is Gabe's youngest sister. Bonded over a love of dogs, Charleston, and once again, dancing. Leah now lives in Charleston, which is one of Gabe and Tay's favorite places that they have visited. Funny, charismatic, and always welcoming ever since Tay joined the family. She also recommends great drinks and is very fun to talk to. Tay is beyond ready to have her as a new sister and Tay and Gabe can't wait to visit her in Charleston.
Zachary Ackerman

While Zack and Gabe graduated from Michigan the same year and with the same major, they never met. Only later did they meet when they lived together in Ann Arbor and caused insurmountable damage to the city. They later moved to San Francisco on the same day to to overcome separation anxiety. A former councilman, so please refer to as "your honor", "honorable", "Lord", "Viscount", "Baron", or "Zek". One of the most impactful people in Gabe's life and someone he can always count on for a listening ear and great advice. Find him on the dance floor doing some amazing finger dancing.

Met in 2018 at a VanLangevelde family gathering, Emmy is Luke's wife. Emmy and Tay quickly became friends after discussing their love of cheese (especially Boursin) at a Chris Lane concert. Both bonded over exercising, good books, and all things organization and planning. As the newest additions to the VL family, they clicked and Tay has enjoyed any time she has been able to spend with Emmy. Smart, adventurous, and easy to get along with, Emmy has always been open and willing to help in any way she can and Tay is excited to join her as a sister in the VL fam.
Alex Brock

Met 5 years ago before Tay and Gabe started dating by going skydiving together. A wilderness adventurer, he scared Gabe on all the hikes in Utah by not holding the chain and going way too high. Played 3 hands of 3 card poker in Vegas before hitting a Straight Flush. A welcoming and engaging friend, Alex has been an important part of Gabe's life ever since he met Tay, and Gabe is so excited to have another brother. Smart as a whip, find him on the dance floor by looking up, he'll be drinking Gin or Whiskey.

Met Kennedy at Grand Valley in 2016 when she started dating a mutual friend of Tay and Gabe's- Kevin. She quickly surpassed Kevin and became a great friend of Tay's. Their mutual love of cheering, GVSU, and beach days brought them very close together. Kennedy is one of the easiest people to get along with and is a joy to be around. Outgoing and positive, she has been a fabulous friend. Gabe and Taylor can't wait for many more double dates with Kennedy and Kevin.

Met in second grade and Gabe's first friend after he moved to Holland. He is still owed a fishing pole by Gabe after he dropped it in a river. Has attempted to golf for upwards of 15 years, and kudos to him for not giving up. A true and dependable friend, someone Gabe has admired ever since they met. Funny and a great conversationalist, find him on the dance floor drinking anything but whiskey and betting the moneyline on The JV Southeast Men's Regional Handball Championships.
Miguel Diaz

Met 5 years ago on the day of the Marine Corps Ball when he joined Gabe's unit. Babysat Gabe in the Marine Corps for 5 long years. "The Office" aficionado and proud owner of a NPLOC. Has missed multiple flights home to Arizona after staying in Ann Arbor after drill and visiting the Brown Jug and Ricks. Miguel pinned Gabe as Captain and has been one of the most important figures in Gabe's civilian and military life. Try to find him on the dance floor under all the Dutch people drinking anything and teaching you how to dance.
