FAQs

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

We want you to dress your best! Semi-formal attire please. We ask that you avoid wearing jeans and shades of white. We encourage you to wear bright and fun summer colors!

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

While we love your little ones, unless stated on your invite this is an adult only event. We are keeping it 21+ with the exception of immediate family. We hope you join us and enjoy a night off!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited space in the venue, we ask that you do not bring a plus one. If you are given a plus one it will be stated on your invite.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We ask that you kindly RSVP by July 10th, 2026. If you do not RSVP by this date we will assume that you are not coming. We will miss celebrating with you but this is to ensure a final guest count with our vendors and the venue. Thank you for understanding.

Question

How early should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony starts at 4:30 pm. We ask that you kindly arrive 30 minutes before, allowing the wedding party and everyone to get set!

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

We will be hosting beer, wine & seltzers on us! Cheers!

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

On our travel tab there is a hotel we recommend that is just 17 minutes away. We have a room block under the Peterson-Steenhoek wedding at the Hilton Garden Inn located in Ames! There is also several hotels near by and a camp ground if you chose to bring a camper!

Question

Will there be a shuttle service?

Answer

We have a shuttle booked to leave the venue at 11:00pm. From there it will take us to the Hilton Garden Inn located in Ames. It will then take us to the Ames bars for those wanting to go out at the end of the night. For everyone else, we encourage carpooling and making safe travel arrangements. The venue allows cars to be left overnight with no pickup time requirement, so you’re welcome to grab your car the next day. Our top priority is that everyone gets home safely, please plan ahead if you won’t be at the Ames hotel.
