Gabe and I were involved in the same traveling ensemble at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi; he played trumpet and I sang. We were a part of this group together for two years and yet neither of us can remember a time that we were ever introduced or interacted with one another. It was not until January of 2017, after a tornado hit our campus, that Gabe worked up the courage to ask me out. After several months of getting to know one another better, Gabe asked me to be his girlfriend on June 3, 2017. Almost ten months later, during a chilly and romantic bike ride in Central Park he walked me to the top of the highest hill in the whole park and sweetly asked me if I would be his wife. I enthusiastically nodded "uh huh!" I have never been more sure of anything in my entire life. We cannot wait to celebrate with all of you on January 12, 2019 and to begin this amazing new chapter of life as man and wife! -Ella My senior year of college I became interested in Ella. We had known of each other for the past couple of years but it wasn’t until then that I entertained the thought of dating her. I thought to myself there was no way a girl of her caliber would date a guy like me; however, I could not get the thought of her off my mind. On January 21, 2017 an EF-3 tornado devastated our campus. That event reminded me of the fragility of life and that we should never let any opportunities pass us by. Our campus was closed for a month, but we began talking over text. The last week of “tornado break” I found my courage and asked her to coffee. She said yes. We dated for a few months and then “became official” on June 3rd, but it was long before then that I knew I wanted this woman to be my wife. On March 13, 2018 in Central Park on a frigid New York day I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She responded with a resounding “uh huh!” We will be married on January 12, 2019 and I could not be more excited for the life I will share with her. -Gabe
