We're Married!

On a fall afternoon in 2017, I was headed to one of my classes in UAB Heritage Hall. As my friend and I rounded a corner, we bumped into these two guys. Our friends knew one another, so they stopped to chat. They introduced Austin to me, then as we walked away and the days continue to pass, I just could not stop thinking about this Austin guy! A whole semester later, we finally see each other again randomly around campus. We exchanged numbers and the rest is history!

This past summer we had been eager to go on a vacation. Should we fly somewhere? Go to the beach? After lots of googling, we decided Disney would be our big trip of the summer! We loaded up the car and drove to Orlando to spend a few days in the parks. We had a magical time as most do, but the magic did not stop there. As we were preparing to leave Orlando, we stopped in their downtown area at a local boutique. Austin had been masterminding this plan for weeks before. He walked me into the backyard area which had a beautiful picnic set up for us, a special music playlist I had made for us began playing as we sat down to enjoy ourselves. After talking, eating, and singing together, he asked if I could get the cupcake out of the basket. I stand, he stands with me, and he stops me. He holds my hands and talks about our years together, how we have become more than just a couple, but best friends. Tears are welling up and he drops to one knee, I cannot help but cry happy tears as he put the ring on my finger and stands to give me the biggest hug.

On a whimsical wintery morning, with the breathtaking treehouse as our backdrop in Crane Hill, AL, we spent our morning preparing for a little ceremony. Gabe had an amazing team of girls come and pamper her. Our wonderful photographer, Hannah, joined us to capture our intimate day. That afternoon we recited our vows to one another and walked around the property taking in the woodsy scenery. We celebrated our marriage with champagne and cake in a huge bathtub (highly recommend) and ended our night cuddled by a glowing wood fire!
