We're gettin' hitched!

Gabe and Ashton met originally during one of Wasatch Pine's (one of Gabe's bands) performances at the Beehive. There was a quick hello, but no conversation. Ashton likes to remind Gabe that during this show, James (one of her best friends) mentioned that Gabe seemed like her type. She ignored him. A month or so later, Ashton and James attended a show for Staycation (another band that Gabe is in). Again, James made a comment about Gabe being Ashton's type. Again, she ignored him. It wasn't until they started to stick around after Staycation shows that Ashton and Gabe began to talk. After several months of chatting here and there before and after shows, Ashton realized that James was entirely right. She was crushing on Gabe, and she was crushing HARD. She began to flirt with him. Each time, it went right over his head. She even told him "I'm going to start shamelessly flirting with you if that's alright." He said it was fine and still nothing happened. Gabe has since admitted to thinking that the entire thing was a bit. It was not. Before a show, the two were talking and Gabe thanked Ashton for her constant support saying, "I'd do anything for you!" Ashton, having just spent an excessive amount of time on the phone with James contemplating asking Gabe on a date, seized the opportunity to ask Gabe to be her date to a charity outreach gala thrown by the nonprofit she volunteers for. It was during this event that the two sat and really connected. They talked about anything and everything for the entire event. The only problem was that neither of them were sure if it was a date, at least until Ashton got sick of the question and gave Gabe a kiss goodbye on the cheek. Since then, the two have been inseparable, sharing as many experiences together as possible.

Gabe and Ashton have always been sentimentalists. Since being together they've written several love letters back and forth for birthdays, holidays, and just because. During July of 2024, just before Ashton was about to head to volunteer for Camp Kesem, Gabe suggested the two go hammocking up the canyon. They took a nap instead. He suggested it again, and they went to the waterpark with Ashton's family and got VERY sunburnt instead. After the sunburns, they were no longer feeling like "outside people" and settled on having a paint night. After cleaning up, Gabe presented Ashton with a love letter detailing 100 little things he loved about her. She was in tears the whole time she read, but when she was done and looked up at Gabe, he was on one knee with the ring.
