West 6th Street
You'll find an amazing variety of great bars, restaurants and music venues on 6th street west of Congress (stay away from "Dirty 6th", which is east of Congress!). Consider visiting the Rustic Tap: 20+ Austin beers, live music, games and outdoor patio.
Bullock Texas State History Museum
Located just a few blocks north of the Texas State Capitol. Offers a comprehensive journey through the state's rich past, featuring 3 floors of exhibits. Showcases everything from early Texas inhabitants to modern-day cultural contributions, and also houses an IMAX theater and the Texas Spirit Theater.
Lady Bird Lake
Looks more like a river, runs east & west through Austin. Has a fantastic 8+ mile hike and bike trail (you can do less!) with food & drink along the way.
Zilker Park
Austin’s oldest metropolitan park, and home to the annual Austin City Limits music festival, located at the juncture of Barton Creek and Lady Bird Lake, 351 acres featuring a natural spring-fed swimming pool (Barton Springs), sculpture garden, stand-up paddle boarding, dinosaurs (at the prehistoric gardens in the botanical garden) and unbeatable views of the Austin skyline.
Barton Springs Pool
Austin's famous three-acre, spring fed pool right in the center of town (inside Zilker Park). Fed by four bubbling springs, this natural wonder maintains a brisk 68-70° year ‘round.
Chicken Sh*t Bingo
If you're still in town, head over to the Little Longhorn Saloon ("The Honkiest Tonkiest Beer Joint in Town") on Sunday between 4pm and 8pm to see something you've probably never seen before, and possibly win a prize if chicken sh*t luck is on your side.
